An interest in exploring inner city intensification led to the appointment to prepare a residential redevelopment scheme for a Sainsbury’s site on Garratt Lane, Wandsworth.

The existing site comprises a supermarket of 77,838 sqft, together with some 430 surface-level car parking spaces.

The extent of the surface-level car park has allowed a scheme to be conceived which introduced high-density residential development of 440 residential units with 119 car parking spaces, together with an extension to the supermarket.

Additional supermarket car parking wraps around the store to the north and east on the ground and first floors; residential car parking is provided at a second deck level over part of the site. The residential accommodation is built up from a podium deck, above the car parking.
