The Casino Hotel

Guildford

An assembly of land parcels allowed for a proposal to provide a high-quality 125-bedroom hotel annexed to the proposed Casino complex.

In addition, 11 serviced apartments, 2 restaurants, retail and multi-faceted entertainment would support the accommodation. The entertainment facilities included ground floor reception and gaming areas, a sports lounge and racing room, restaurant and cocktail bar facilities and administrative support on upper floors.

The proposed building was conceived as a sinuous spine creating visual interest and reflecting footfall desire lines between the town centre and Guildford station. It is of six-storey in height on the Onslow Street frontage, matching the height of Tempus Court at the corner of Onslow Street and Bedford Road, reducing to three storeys as it approached the River Wey.
